Design Research & Strategy
This research investigates the environmental impact of floral sourcing in South Indian weddings, addressing challenges like high carbon emissions and unsustainable practices tied to imported blooms. Through stakeholder insights and sustainability frameworks, it highlights the potential of local, eco-conscious sourcing to preserve cultural traditions while reducing environmental harm. The solution, Bloom Roots, is a digital platform connecting planners, florists, and families, offering tools like seasonal flower guides and impact trackers to promote sustainable floral practices and support local communities. Tradition and sustainability converge in this innovative approach.
